"Communication makes wisdom spark" (International Viewpoint)
From October 10 to 15, the 42nd Gulf Information Technology Exhibition was held at the Dubai World Trade Center in the United Arab Emirates.
More than 5,000 exhibitors from more than 90 countries and regions around the world showcased solutions and the latest products around 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud technology, cyber security, financial technology, blockchain, data analytics, smart city, etc.
The cutting-edge technology showcase platform
Founded in 1981, Gulf IT Expo has become one of the world's largest information technology exhibitions. This year's show is divided into eight themes, with a total exhibition area of about 180,000 square meters.
At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Omar, the UAE Minister of State in charge of artificial intelligence, digital economy, and telecommuting applications, said that technology can unleash greater potential through exchange and cooperation, and that "exchange allows wisdom to spark and can drive further innovation".
Technology and innovation drive development
Over the years, the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition has focused on the exchange and application of new technologies and solutions, attracting active participation from high-tech enterprises, technology-based SMEs, and others from various countries.
Last year's show dedicated an exhibition area for innovative companies, and this year's exhibitors of innovative SMEs reached more than 1,000, 35 of which are unicorns.
The Gulf IT exhibition has also given impetus to the diversification of Dubai's economy. Statistics show that every dollar spent by exhibitors at Gulf IT Expo will bring 4.5 times more economic benefits to Dubai.
Omar said in an interview with our reporter that the impact of technology on human society is deepening, and the UAE government attaches great importance to the role of technology and innovation, hoping to drive economic and social development.
