The leopard is a wild animal that many people like very much. They are not as big as the tiger, but they have better skills than the tiger in all aspects. The leopard's beautiful appearance is also a point of interest for some unscrupulous elements, which has led to a sharp decline in the number of wild animals with the name "leopard".
Cheetah (scientific name: Acinonyx jubatus): is a carnivorous feline, and is the only species in the genus Cheetah. It is divided into five subspecies and one variant. The largest is the North African subspecies, with adult males weighing 29-71 kg, all weighing 45 kg, and adult females weighing 21-63 kg, all weighing 38 kg; the adult weights of the other four subspecies are generally below 35 kg. They are called cheetahs because their appearance is similar to that of leopards and their running speed is particularly fast.
They inhabit temperate and tropical grasslands, including semi-deserts and savannas with sparse trees and bare rock areas. Specialized muscles allow for greater oscillation of the limbs, which increases acceleration. They are the fastest land animals in the world, capable of reaching speeds of over 110 km/h in just three seconds. At top speed, they have a stride of up to seven meters. They are carnivores and their main diet consists of various species of antelope. Wild populations are now found in Africa and Iran.
In addition to the cheetah, several other species of leopards exist in the world.
1. The jaguar
The jaguar is the largest feline on the American continent and its diet is very varied. Generally speaking, most of the jaguar's prey consists mainly of aquatic dolphins and deer, but when food is scarce, they will also go down to the river to hunt crocodiles. Although the jaguar has the same pattern as the leopard, its body structure is similar to the tiger, hence it is also called the jaguar. The jaguar is very strong, similar to the tiger, and can fight with the grizzly bear.
2. The leopard
The leopard mainly lives in the African savannah and, like other felines, is solitary. It has strong tree-climbing skills and its climbing speed is comparable to that of a baboon, so the leopard is often able to prey on baboons. Generally, the leopard's fighting ability is much higher than that of the baboon, and with its tree-climbing skills, there are almost no natural enemies in the grassland as long as the leopard is not careless. Even lions are sometimes unable to stop them.
3. Golden leopard
The leopard lives mainly in mountainous and hilly areas and belongs to the feline family in the forest. The leopard and the snow leopard are technically the same subspecies, but with different branches. The leopard refers to the African subspecies, while the snow leopard refers to the Asian subspecies. There are still differences in their appearance. The snow leopard is darker in colour, a little smaller in size, and weighs about 70 kg, so it is weaker than the leopard in terms of fighting strength.
4. Snow Leopard
The snow leopard is known as the king of the snowy mountains and is a carnivore of the highlands. It is currently a nationally protected animal, and the number of wild animals is even rarer than that of the giant panda. The snow leopard is between 50-80 kg in size, with a relatively well-proportioned body and black spots all over its body, which is very beneficial for them to hide under the rocks of the snowy mountains. When prey such as rock goats approach, they can scamper out and hunt with such high efficiency that even tigers have to break a sweat.
