Motocross (also known as motocross and Motocross) is the motorcycle sport of motorcycle racing. The main categories include motorcycle road racing and cross-country racing, both on track and open track, as well as track racing. Other categories include mountain climbing, drag racing and land speed record testing.

Historically, "road racing" has referred to racing on closed public roads. This was once common, but only a few such circuits have survived, mainly in Europe. The race was held on public roads, which were temporarily closed to the public by legal order of the local legislature. There are two championships, the first is the International Road Racing Championship (which needs clarification) and the other is the Duke Road Racing Rankings. The latter make up the majority of road races held each season, with prizes awarded to the highest ranked drivers. There are a number of road racing circuits still in use in Ireland. Other countries with road races are the Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom (Mount Oliver), the Czech Republic, New Zealand, Indonesia and Macau.

Motorcycle Grand Prix

MotoGP is the highest level of professional motorcycle racing, with many races taking place on tracks around the world each year. The final two events of the year are the Shell Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Selangor, Malaysia, and the Valencia Motorcycle Grand Prix in Valencia, Spain.

TT race

The International Isle of Man TT(Tourist Trophy) race, a motorcycle race held on the Isle of Man, was for many years the most prestigious motorcycle race in the world and remains statistically the most dangerous race in the world.

The Isle of Man TT Racing was part of the TT Formula One championship from 1977 to 1990 to maintain the racing status of the event. From 1989, horse racing was developed by the Isle of Man Tourist Board as the Isle of Man TT Festival.

Carrera Panamericana

In the five-year span of the Carrera PanAmericana, 27 people died, one of the highest per-race death rates in motorsport history.

After the Mexican section of the Pan-American Highway was completed in 1950, the Mexican government organized a nine-stage, six-day race across the country to celebrate and attract international businesses.

In the 1952 race, German racing team Klin and Kroenke introduced the innovative pre-prepared "speed cue" that allowed the co-driver to communicate direction to the driver at high speeds. This system was so revolutionary that it is used in all motorsports today, including Navigator.

Dakar Rally

The annual Dakar Rally is open to trucks, cars, quad bikes and motorcycles and is one of the toughest rally events in the world. Forget trophies and podiums; Just getting to the end of the track in one piece is enough for most Dakar riders. The rally, which was originally held in Dakar, Senegal, was moved to South America due to terrorist threats.

Most of the drivers are amateurs who find themselves having to negotiate endless mud, sand and rocks in the sweltering heat. Dakar is for those who shun the shiny, flat asphalt and the high technical precision of MotoGP in favour of something grittier and gritty.
